An occupancy permit is required prior to moving into a dwelling.
Apply online or in-person at the Customer Service counter in City Hall between 8:00 a.m. and 4:30 p.m. Monday - Friday.
Only the intended occupant may apply for occupancy.
$25 fee, payable at the time of application
An occupancy permit cannot be issued if a Certificate of Compliance has not been issued, unless the property is sold "as is".
If a property is sold "as is", and all safety violations are abated, a Conditional Occupancy Permit may be issued. A Conditional Occupancy Permit cannot be applied for online. It will need to be applied for in person, and the buyer must agree to correct all remaining violations.
An occupancy permit cannot be issued if the household size exceeds the maximum occupancy level of the house.
